Make in Maharashtra is an initiative started by Government of Maharashtra on sidelines of Make in India initiative by Government of India. Main objective of this government initiative is to create business friendly atmosphere in Maharashtra by increasing ease of doing business as much as possible. Main target is to increase the Foreign Direct Investment and Local Investment in the region to further increase the industrialization in Maharashtra. Schindler's Jürgen Tinggren said during World Economic Forum at Davos in 2015 that "Ease of doing business in Maharashtra is as fast as China." The Maharashtra government is eyeing Rs 5 lakh crore(US$84bn) industrial investment across the state between 2014-2019 period as part of this initiative that is likely to generate around 2 million jobs.〔 ==History== Maharashtra attracted maximum foreign inflows at USD 70.41 billion, about 30 per cent of total foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in India during April 2000 - November 2014.
